Cricket West Indies (CWI) says it is still sticking to its promise to visit Pakistan in December after New Zealand and England cricket teams canceled their tour.

The West Indies cricket team will play three ODIs and three T20 Internationals in Pakistan during its trip, according to Trainee Dead’s Newsday.

CWI Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Johnny Greaves says the sports governing body will take the same steps as the trip to Pakistan as it did three years ago.

Led by Jason Mohammad, the West Indies defeated Pakistan in three T20 International matches in Karachi.

Johnny Grave said: ‘At the moment our aim is to fulfill the commitments and obligations we have made in relation to our visit. We have a clear plan developed with the help of independent security experts, just as we did in 2018.

He added: “We will follow this strategy. Along with the Board of Directors, WIPA (West Indies Players Association), the players themselves will review our plans and reports, including the advice of an independent security organization. Most of the players in our men’s and women’s teams have played cricket in Pakistan over the past few years.

Pakistan’s efforts to revive international cricket have been thwarted when New Zealand decided to suspend its tour last week following a security threat and England suspended their matches next month for the same reason. ۔

Johnny Grave said that “We don’t have to take a decision quickly,“. We will do this process first through the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) and security experts.

Following the 2009 Sri Lanka cricket team attack in Lahore, foreign teams withdrew from Pakistan.

Since then, Pakistan has played its international matches in the United Arab Emirates, but PCB has insisted on hosting games on its own ground for the past three years.
