School closed due to high rates of COVID

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has decided to close educational institutions (School) with high rates of coronavirus for one week. For it has also directed the provinces to fix the rates.

The NCOC met in Islamabad to consider corona testing. And vaccination in educational institutions.

The meeting also reviews the testing of educational institutions in the cities affected by Omicron. And decide to close for a week those institutions. Which had a high incidence of CORONA cases in educational institutions of different cities.

The NCOC says that in the next two weeks. Large-scale corona testing will conduct in educational institutions. After which only the higher educational institution. One class or section will close.

The National Command and Operations Center has directed the provincial governments to determine the rate of cases related to the closure of educational institutions, which will be decided by the provincial governments in collaboration with the health, education, and school administrations.

The NCOC further said that a campaign should be launched to vaccinate students above 12 years of age to ensure 100% vaccination.

COVID-19 condition in last 24 hours

The decision comes after 7,678 COVID-19 cases were reported in the country in the last 24 hours. The highest number of cases per day since the onset of the epidemic. The overall positivity rate, recorded at 12.93%, was the highest since June last year.

The death toll from the quake also rose from 5 a day earlier to 23. This is the highest number of deaths per day. Since October 15, 2021. The total number of new deaths has risen to 29,065.

59,343 tests were conduct in the last 24 hours. So far 1,353,479 positive cases have report in Pakistan.

The situation is alarming in Sindh. Where 3,739 cases and 17 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours. A statement issue by the Chief Minister’s Office on Thursday said. That 17,002 tests were conduct out of which 3,739 cases were positive.

It is clear that this was done. While in Azad Kashmir also 7 educational institutions were close on very positive cases.

On the other hand. A week ago, 3 schools in Karachi were also seal for violating SOPs. Of these, 1,359 new infections were report in Karachi. Bringing the positive rate to 46.58%.
