CCEE considers reducing LNG port charges. A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCOE) chaired by Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, was held in Islamabad.

The committee considered the proposal of the Petroleum Division regarding reduction of port charges on LNG by the Port Qasim Authority on the basis of independent assessments. The proposal also emphasizes the need for development work in Port Qasim as an independent assessment.

CCEE considers reducing LNG port charges

The CCOE approved an independent evaluation proposal for better competitive pricing. The committee noted that the argument that various port levies would benefit the final consumer by lowering LNG prices.

CCOE directed the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to immediately begin infrastructure development work using the financial resources available at the Port Qasim Authority. The Committee noted that upgrading port infrastructure and facilities should be the sole priority of the Qasim Port Authority.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Petroleum for SPM, Nadeem Babar, Minister for Trade and Investment, Abdul Razzaq Dawood and officials Of different divisions.
